Why You Need TSA PreCheck or Global Entry
This photo demonstrates why you need TSA PreCheck or Global Entry. If you’re a frequent traveler, I recommend applying for the service. I arrived at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) at 7:00AM and the security line was wrapped around the corridor. If you’re short on time and don’t have TSA PreCheck, you could miss your flight. A benefit of membership is you don’t have to remove your shoes or take items out of your bag.
ProTip
Print your boarding pass just in case technology malfunctions. A lot of people use electronic boarding passes instead of paper. For example, the lady in front of me mobile pass didn’t work and she had to leave the line to obtain a new boarding pass. As a solo traveler, this service has saved me from missing flights.
Cost
TSA PreCheck is $85, add Global Entry for $15 and it’s good for 5 years. It’s more bang for your buck. For more information visit www.tsa.gov/precheck and www.globalentryprogram.com.
