Thanksgiving Tradition: SOME 5K Turkey Trot
Despite the morning chill, I look forward to my annual Thanksgiving tradition of running the SOME 5K Turkey Trot for Hunger in Washington, DC. This is my12th year running a race very dear to my heart. So Others Might Eat is an interfaith, community-based organization helping the poor and homeless with their immediate daily needs providing food, clothing, and healthcare. It’s a wonderful time to run with friends and express gratitude.
If you’re visiting DC during Thanksgiving, register for the 5K Turkey Trot and enjoy a scenic run that starts near the White House, races down Pennsylvania Avenue, and passes the U.S. Capitol. The races includes a Little Turkey Trot for children. A family affair and good time for all.
