The National Gallery of Art presents the phenomenal Afro-Atlantic Histories until July 17, 2022. The exhibit thoroughly looks at the cultural formations and historical experiences of Black and African people since the 17th century. You’ll see more than 130 pieces of art, including photos, sculptures, paintings and other media by artists from the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

Storytelling

The renowned art of Romare Bearden and Alma Thomas are on display. It’s an extraordinary, empowering, and enlightening art experience that will take your breath away. You can listen to the audio guide and hear the artists tell their stories.

Bonus: Admission is always FREE and no passes are required. The National Gallery of Art offers an array of exhibits and programs. Another favorite exhibit is James Van Der Zee’s Photographs, A Portrait of Harlem.
