Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken
Astro Doughnuts is located in downtown DC at Metro Center and it’s always a favorite after group runs. They have the most unique flavors and my favorite is the maple bacon. Bacon makes everything better for me. I pair the maple bacon doughnut with chicken tenders and I’m satisfied for the day. I earned this treat! Astro’s walk-in shop is connected to their restaurant which serves lunch and dinner after 11:30am. This is another office favorite for their designer donuts!
Baked & Wired
One of DC’s most popular bakery in Georgetown with a line down the street. Their cupcakes are bigger than most with a variety of flavors. They sell cakes, ice cream cookies, and have a coffee bar attached. It’s a cozy cafe for working or socializing with friends. My favorite is the oatmeal, blueberry ice cream cookie! Check out my Georgetown Walking Tour to see the line.
Boulangerie Christophe
A cozy boulangerie in Georgetown with an authentic french bakery experience. The flaky, buttery croissant melted in my mouth and the hot chocolate was the best I’ve tasted in the city. They have upstairs seating and an outdoor patio. Seating inside may be closed but the patio remains open. As you explore Georgetown, it’s definitely worth a visit for a scrumptious patisserie and hot chocolate!
Three Fifty Bakery & Coffee Bar
Cozy, quaint neighborhood bakery with the yummiest chocolate croissant, scones, ice tea, and espresso drinks. Located at 17th & U Street NW with a patio for socializing, relaxing, and people watching.
Georgetown Cupcake
The most famous cupcakes in Georgetown that still has a line out the door for their tasty delights. They offer designer cupcakes but they are quite small. However, if you’re in DC, it’s cool to say you’ve been to Georgetown Cupcake.
Seylou Bakery
Seylou Bakery & Mill is an organic whole grain bakery and mill . This rustic baguette is moist, slightly sour and soft with a beautiful brown crust that gingerly melts in your mouth. Reminiscent of a Paris boulangerie. Seylou accepts walk-ins one person at a time or you can pre-order online for pickup.
ProTip: A Frenchman said to always look for the holes to identify good bread. Au bon pain!
Tatte Bakery and Cafe
Tatte Bakery and Cafe has the most scrumptious, buttery delectables. Freshly made creations that melt in your mouth. The Almond Croissant was the perfect combination of moist, flaky, and crunchy. There are two locations: Dupont Circle and the West End. A must visit as you tour the lovely neighborhood of DuPont Circle.
Sprinkles
Sprinkles cupcakes are always a must when strolling through Georgetown. I love their cinnamon flavored cupcakes and the icing is creamy, not too sweet. I couldn’t resist eating one before the picture was snapped. They are an office favorite for birthday celebrations!
The Cakeroom
Charming with delicious cakes, cupcakes, pies, cookies, and cheesecakes. Great meeting place with seating and event space upstairs. My birthday cupcakes were scrumptious and the flavor of the month is a yummy surprise!
