Best Things To Do In Philadelphia

Philadelphia, “City of Brotherly Love,” is one of my favorite places to visit. You’ll always see something exciting in this awesome historical city with the best cheesesteaks, mural art, museums, parks, and doughnuts. It’s only a three hour drive from Washington, DC, making it a perfect day trip. Check out my recommendations for some of the best things to do in Philadelphia.

Broad Street Run 

The Broad Street Run 10 Miler in Philadelphia is the largest 10 Miler in the world and my favorite race. In 2020, this was my 7th year running the race and my second year running in the pouring rain. Part of the fun is our road trip from Washington, DC to Philadelphia and exploring the race for goodies and hippest running gear.

This race is always exciting, rain or shine, because the volunteers and cheering spectators keep runners pumped all 10 miles. Broad Street Run is a lottery race held on the first Sunday in May. The Best Philly Cheesesteak and Donuts in Philadelphia without a doubt are Max’s and Beiler’s Doughnuts. I came to Philly to run the Broad Street Run 10 Miler and my annual “PreRace Ritual” includes eating Beiler’s Doughnuts and Max’s Cheesesteak. In this video, I’ll taste test a new doughnut and show you in the video how Max’s cooks the best cheesesteak. I’ve tasted many but none can compare.

Max’s is a mood and a guaranteed good time of laughter, jams, and drinks with the locals! A MUST visit and the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia. Max’s is the best Philly cheesesteak in Philadelphia.

Beiler’s Doughnuts-Reading Terminal Market

Beiler’s Doughnuts is located in Reading Terminal Market in Center City. This is one of the best and oldest Farmers Market in the USA and a national treasure. Beiler’s doughnuts are fresh no matter what time you arrive, even at the close of business.

Philadelphia Flower Show 

This was my first time attending the Annual Philadelphia Flower Show. We took a road trip from Washington, DC to see the show on closing day. The lovely flowers were varied and unique. The theme was Flower Power so you’ll see a few quirky designs. I’ve never been to a flower show and if you love horticulture, gardens, flowers, and design, you’ll enjoy this video and show.

After the show we went to Reading Terminal Market. My favorite place to eat in Philly! I also have more great Philly tips in the video because there are tons of things to do in Philadelphia.
