13 Cool Things To Do In Prague

After 12 years, I finally made it to Prague! It has the most gorgeous, picturesque architecture and there’s a lot of cool things to do in Prague. Known as Praha, Prague is a walking city that takes you in a circle and maze from Old to New Town. We took the metro and tram to see the routes but walked most places.

Metro

Prague has an excellent public public transportation system. We caught the train from Budapest into center city. The vibrant metro stations and buses are easily accessible but close at midnight. Once you purchase your ticket be sure to validate it if you’re riding the tram. We stayed in the center and was able to walk to most tourist attractions. Bring some good walking shoes and enjoy exploring the Old and New Town.

Free Walking Tours

We had a fantastic walking tour with Sandemans New Europe. The guide shared jewels of the city, “must try” foods and drinks. Walking tours are a great way to learn the city and meet new people.  Although the tour is free, be sure to tip your guide at the end of the tour.

Always carry money in coins because the restrooms cost and you don’t want to be stuck in your time of need.

Stroll the Charles Bridge

The Charles Bridge is hustle bustle, vibrant with tourists and artisans. Locals are selling their crafts, entertainers perform, and folks capturing moments. Despite the crowds, it’s a pleasant, fun stroll and cool thing to do in Prague.

The Jerusalem Synagogue

The Jerusalem Synagogue will instantly stun you with its beauty. I’ve never seen a synagogue as beautiful as this one. It struck an instant chord with my spirit that I can’t explain. The synagogue in Budapest doesn’t compare. When entering, men must cover their head as a sign of humility honoring God. It’s located two blocks from the Central train station. It’s a must visit and special place to experience.

Astronomical Clock

The Astronomical Clock in Old Town was under construction during our visit so there was no show at the top of the hour.
