7 Favorite Things To Do In Paris

Traveling solo, I want to share my favorite things to do in Paris. It was the last stop on my month long adventure traveling Europe and I spent a week exploring the charming streets, eating croissants, luxe shopping, and hanging with friends.

This was my third visit to Paris so I’m comfortable roaming the streets, speaking the language, and acting Parisian. This trip was pure fun, excitement, and relaxation. Paris is city you can visit without an itinerary, be spontaneous, discover new places, and see the city like a local.

Paris Photo Shoot

I met up with friends at the Eiffel Tower to have a professional photo shoot with Matthieu Waddell Photo the day before Dîner en Blanc. It was a beautiful sunny day at the Trocadero and one of the best experiences. We had a blast, ate scrumptiously, partied all night, and watched the sunset!

Jazz Clubs – Dancing in the Latin Quarter

Paris jazz clubs gives you the best live music and jam sessions! Caveau Des Oubliettes is my favorite jazz club for great music, fun, and dancing. The Latin Quarter in the 5th arrondissement is vibrant with jazz clubs, cafes, and old squares. Experience the Paris nightlife like a local. If you love jazz and want to have a good time, visit this Paris Jazz Club and dance the night away.

Paris also has a nice bar scene, from secret bars to speakeasy. For more information about Jazz in Paris and upcoming concerts, visit https://www.parisjazzclub.net/en

Little Africa

I’m visited the renowned Du Pain et Des Idées Boulangerie to taste the escargot pistache chocolat. Then ventured to a bustling Little Africa ( La Goutte d’Or) or Château Rouge to check out the amazing African fabrics. If you need Black or African hair products, this is the spot. I also know an excellent hair salon if you’re looking for a professional stylist in Paris.

On my walk to Sacré-Coeur, I discovered Steak n Shake! One of my favorite childhood restaurants in St. Louis, MO.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton Paris Saint-Germain des Pres is my favorite boutique. It’s a chic intimate setting that caters to your needs. Their professionalism and attentiveness are superbly unmatched. You’ll receive the royal treatment for a luxurious experience. Shopping is one of my favorite things to do in Paris.

Diner en Blanc

I attended Dîner en Blanc Paris 2018 30th Anniversary at Les Invalides. For the first time ever, Paris invited people from around the world to attend this affair. The secret dinner location was at my favorite museum, Les Invalides with 15,000 guests. Everyone was fabulously dressed in all white for the fanciest picnic I’ve ever attended. The French partied like it was 1999 and we had a BLAST!

Watch the traditional line dance on the ground where people are tossed over heads. Table settings were elaborate, live bands jammed as we danced the night away. The sparkle of the Eiffel Tower made it a magical night to remember! Friends flew in for the weekend to attend this delightful weekend of festivities.

Fact: The tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte is located at Les Invalides. The museum houses the military history of France and is beautiful. I highly recommend visiting when in Paris.

Notre-Dame de Paris

I was heartbroken watching the beautiful and historic Notre-Dame de Paris burn in a massive fire. I toured the more than 850-years old Cathedral in 2016, and it’s significant to many people for various reasons. If you love architecture, history, or art, you’ll appreciate the beauty of this famous Paris landmark and French national treasure.

I’ve visited Paris every year since 2016 and the highlight is strolling the Seine gazing at Notre- Dame. The French will rebuild and I’ll always remember “Our Lady” as a masterpiece.

Learn French

I look forward to my annual trip to Paris to practice my language skills. Immersion is the best teacher and a valuable learning experience. I started learning French in 2016 for my visit to run the Paris Marathon. It’s a beautiful Romance language that’s challenging, fun, and intriguing. French  stimulates my senses, engages my curiosity and love for cultural adventure.

On my Queen of DC YouTube Channel, we explore the world and live life without regrets. It’s never too late to learn a new language, whether you travel or not. Practice French with me and let’s have some fun on this language learning journey.
