Old San Juan

Stroll through the colorful, historic district of Old San Juan. Explore the cobblestone streets, cute boutiques, open air cafes, marvelous architecture, and old city beauty.

Casa Bacardi Rum Tasting Tour

The Casa Bacardi Rum Tasting Tour was fantastic! We took the ferry in Old San Juan to Catano for $2. From Catano Pier you take a van to the Bacardi Distillery. This is a must do and definitely a top thing to do in Puerto Rico.

Ferry to Casa Bacardi

Casa Bacardi offers a variety of classes. We selected Mixology that came with a tour of the spectacular factory, a complimentary drink and souvenir cup. Mixology was a blast and we learned how to make a Cuba Libre, Daiquiri, and Mojito. I highly recommend this fun-filled tour.

Mixology Kit

I got to watch them make a personalized, fine bottle of Casa Bacardi Special Reserve Rum. The taste was of sherry, maple, butterscotch, and prestige. Succulently marinated and all you need is a nice cigar to seal it.

El Yunque National Forest

The El Yunque National Forest is absolutely gorgeous! I spent half a day exploring the park, hiking through the forest. I took a tour bus from the hotel because it’s a 45 minute drive. Be sure to wear the proper walking, water, or hiking shoes because the rocks are slick and you can easily slip.

Relax at the Beach

I love beach life and wanted to spend at least one day on the beach to relax, drink, eat, and repeat. Since I was alone on the beach, I traveled with my Universal Waterproof Cellphone Pouch so I could enjoy the water.

Mofongo

Mofongo is a very tasty traditional Puerto Rican dish with fried plantains as its main dish. One of our favorite places to dine was Restaurante Raices. The food was deliciously seasoned and authentically fresh. I love the cultural themed decor and staff attire. The service was excellent and our beautiful hostess served the best hospitality.

Exploring culture through food is exciting!
