New York City Guide: 8 Things To Do

Central Park

In New York you don’t have to go somewhere fancy to meet your favorite celebrity, just walk through Central Park. That’s me with the Legendary Tony Bennett! This was the most exciting days and one of the best things to do in New York City.

I couldn’t believe it was him yet I knew it was him so I asked,⁣ “Excuse me, do people tell you, you look like Tony Bennett?” He response, I am. Fangirl scream, “I’m a big fan and you still look handsome.” He was extremely kind, allowing us to take pictures and I even hugged him. It was the sweetest moment and highlight of our trip. ⁣I’m not normally starstruck but when I am, it’s a living legend! ⁣

Have you ever been starstruck?⁣

Brooklyn Bridge

There’s never a dull moment in New York City and you’ll always leave with a piece of the Big Apple. Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge I learned it’s legal for women to go topless. This lady strolled across the bridge so confidently I didn’t even see her until a week later editing the video. While it’s legal for women to go topless in Washington, DC, it’s not something I see and DC is a conservative city.

I wasn’t shocked by it, I was more stunned I was looking her way and didn’t even notice her. Watching the video she smiles right into my camera. No one was bothered or seem to pay her any attention, just another day walking across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Levain Bakery

Levain Bakery on West 74th has the best cookie in New York City. I’ve only heard scrumptious things about Levain Bakery and their giant, chunky cookies. It’s a very popular bakery in New York City with a line down the block. Last time I was in the city, it was freezing and the line was down the street so we didn’t wait.

This time the weather was tolerable and we had time; however, the wait was long. Bring a friend and catch up while you wait. If you’re in DC, we now have a Levain Bakery in Georgetown!

Watch the video for my taste test and review! You’ll have a blast exploring New York City and tasting all the food.

Canal Street

The famous Canal Street in New York City known for knockoff luxury bags. If you want to know how to buy a fake designer bag on Canal Street in New York, WATCH THIS video. My friend is a veteran at the game and I was curious about how they sell bags.

We went through the process but then the “Canal Street Counterfeit Clique” started to bombard us about buying. At that point we had to bounce and ditch filming. It was adventurous because we didn’t where the seller was taking us. Sometimes they take you to an underground or backroom and you have to watch your surroundings. It was busy night and we stayed above ground.

Little Italy

We were on a self-curated Foodie Tour in New York City. We ate at Joe’s Steam Rice Rolls, Paesano Italian restaurant and the famous 128-year old Ferrara Italian Bakery. In the Canal Street Market and Food Hall, Joe’s Steamed Rolls makes fresh to order steam rolls. They were fresh and filled with shrimp, sprouts, scallions, pork or beef (your choic). The price was about $6-10. ⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣

Check out the video to witness my authentic reaction. The pepper chili oil added a savory flavor but was it enough?

Dinner in Little Italy was a wonderful experience! We ended with dessert at the legendary Ferrara Italian Bakery and the Napoleon melted in my mouth. Little Italy is a vibrant part of the city and cool place to visit.

The Vessel-Hudson Yards

Hudson Yards at night in New York City is a beautiful view. The Vessel is spectacular! This gorgeous design and skyline is amazing. It’s a beautiful surprise to the eyes and you can walk 16 stories to the top, 154 separate staircases known as “Staircase to Nowhere.” The entrance fee is $10.00, if you miss the free tickets. There’s a luxury mall next to it and action all around.

The architecture and skyline are marvelous! There’s a subway stop at Hudson Yards and it’s an artful, cleansed modern station. In New York I travel by train and the subway is always an exciting and easy way to get around the crowded streets of New York City. ⁣⁣

Have you been to the Vessel? It was cold so we didn’t go inside since it’s an open vessel.

Brunch in Brooklyn

Exploring Brooklyn discovering its unique vibe was amazing. New York brownstones are an architectural dream! Brunch in Bed-Stuyvesant was delicious. I heard great things about Peaches Kitchen and Bar and couldn’t wait to try it. When I travel I live local, subway, walk, and get down with the people.

Strolling through Fulton Park, gazing at the beautiful brownstones, and laughing with my girl was refreshing! ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ We strolled the neighborhood and shops and even saw Obama.

Chelsea Market and Fabrique Bakery

Fabrique Bakery is the best Swedish bakery in New York City. Have you ever tasted cardamom buns? The most delicious buns I’ve ever tasted. Explore the deliciousness of Fabrique Bakery. The cardamon buns come in three flavors, cinnamon, saffron and sugar, and cardamon. All three were delicious but the cinnamon was my favorite. Saffron has a unique flavor with a hint of cherry.

Shopping at Chelsea Market is always a treat of delicacies. Very Fresh Noodles is a scrumptious restaurant at the Market with handmade noodles.
