DLEÑA: UPSCALE MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN DC

dLeña: Upscale Mexican Restaurant in DC

With a menu that embraces the best of Mexico and a Mezcal Lounge with over 100 tequilas and live band, dLeña has become a new neighborhood favorite in Mt. Vernon Triangle. Its sexy ambiance is perfect for date night, chic for brunch, and splendid for happy hour.

Chic & Sleek

When I stopped by for cocktails, I was absolutely amazed by the gorgeous interior, lighting, and design. The bar is wraparound with a view of the kitchen. The service was stellar and the bartender’s recommendations were superb. We discussed their spectacular brunch which has receives rave reviews. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am-3:00pm. For specials, he suggested happy hour Monday – Friday 5:00-6:30pm at the bar. You also can enjoy a live band in their Roja Sublevel Mezcal Lounge.

Let’s get into my Tamarindo margarita that’s made with reposado tequila, taramind, agave, lime, and tajin. It was marvelous with a twist of majic! The margaritas range from $13-15 which are standard prices in the city. They have a unique drink menu and it’s fun to watch their cocktail creativity.

The food aromas are delightful and arrive early for happy hour. Cousin Chris was in town and dLeña was the perfect place to celebrate with drinks. I wish we had started here for dinner; however, I returned for dinner on another day and it was absolutely amazing!

Te Veo Pronto

dLeña is intimate with a hip bar, patio, booth seating, and Roja lounge. A must try if you’re looking for a fabulous dining experience. We left the restaurant on cloud nine.

It was so good and the tajin gave it a kick. I didn’t want anything too sweet and the bartender recommended it. I could feel it 😆. My cousin’s margarita was smokey. You would definitely love this spot!
